"Our longtime friend Frank Bellinger (Finance manager) who has helped us buy many of our vehicles, unfortunately, was ill and unable to assist us this time. He kindly referred us to Business Manager Peter Kuchler for our car buying experience. Peter was very knowledgeable and patient. We are die-hard Nissan fans but Peter took extra time to explain all the different Subaru models and test drive them. He carefully listened to what we thought were" casual comments/observations" and he recommended the Forester. When we test drove the Forester, it didn't take long for us to realize his recommendation was exactly what we were looking for. We so appreciated his calm and friendly demeanor. We did not feel rushed or pressured to buy. We also noticed how respectful and polite Peter was in his dealings with other staff members. In today's world when good manners and common courtesy seem in short supply, it was refreshing to experience these values at your dealership. Incidentally, we drove 72 miles to do business there. Six Lithia Motors Subaru Retailers Certified as Eco-Friendly
From a LEED-certified headquarters to its 190 stores nationwide, Lithia Motors, Inc., is committed to improving the auto industry’s environmental and social landscape. Lithia’s 2019 Corporate Responsibility Report highlights strides in sustainable business practices at corporate and dealership levels.

Corporate environmental work includes expanding the nation’s EV charging network and sustainable living education for employees. At a dealership level, Lithia has made significant investments in LED lighting and solar installations.

Lithia’s drive for environmental leadership at various levels mirrors Subaru of America’s commitment to the environment, with SOA’s LEED-certified headquarters building, zero-landfill plants, partnerships with the National Parks Conservation Association, TerraCycle, and Leave No Trace, and the establishment of the Subaru Eco-Friendly Retailer Program.

Retailer Garden Expands, Welcomes Foul Friends
What started as a small-scale retailer garden has grown to more than 5,000 square feet in the last six years. It also welcomed new friends this spring—six laying hens with their own Suba-Coop.

The garden, started in 2015 at Montgomery Subaru in Montgomery, AL, was the idea of Karen Danielson, parts manager. It’s tended by the parts and detail departments, and the bounty has included tomatoes, cabbage, pumpkins, cantaloupe, eggplant, and much more. The produce is shared with employees, customers, and a local food bank.
Planet Subaru Releases 500 Endangered Quail Chicks

This month Planet Subaru held its annual quail release, setting free 500 bobwhite quail chicks on its 10-acre campus which features forest, grassy areas, and rain gardens. Over the past few years, the retailer has released a total of 800 quail, whose New England population is threatened due to habitat loss.
