The 2023 Subaru Outback has two powerful engines in its powertrain lineup, starting with the standard 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. This motor generates a respectable 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque, which is sure to highlight all your adventurous and bold drives.

Looking for a little extra oomph? The Outback model's second available powertrain, a 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, puts out an outstanding 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.

The RAV4 model's standard—and only—gas engine, packs a big punch with 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. However, it does fall short of the maximum power output available in the Outback, so you may notice a difference in performance.
